I snagged this for my 14-year-old, 5-pound yorkie with achy hips. Initially, she gave it the cold shoulder since it lacked the familiar scent. But by day two, cue my mix of happy and sad tears, I found her trying to snuggle in, but struggling to hoist up her hips. I couldn't assist because I've got the same bending-over issue. The sides aren't super tall Daround 3-4 inches Dbut it's a lot for a little dog with hip issues. She did manage to fully get in once later on, so she might warm up to it more. I missed the entrance act again, but she seemed to enjoy it once inside. She's a small dog who should weigh 7-8 pounds, so this 20-inch bed is snug. It'd be tight on a 15-pounder or more, so go a size up if they like space. If they love being totally surrounded by bedding, it's cool. It arrived rolled up in plastic, but it fluffed itself up, so no worries at first. It's super soft with a gentle plastic underside. Totally worth the money.
Looks good, and my dog is all about it. Blends right in with the decor.
Nina, a 75lb dog, is a big fan, but she gets a bit warm in there. My cat also loves it; the shallow design suits her because she tends to get too warm. I had to fluff it up when it first arrived since the bedding was squished in the package.
My dog is head over heels for this bed. It's soft and cozy. He lounged in it for 3 hours and keeps going back. I'm kinda jealous.
Ideal bed for a beagle-sized dog. My 18-pound Slipper even fit her newborn pups in there with her. She got some much-needed rest after the pups, and the bed is a breeze to wash, super durable.
